Burma: Concerns for striking workers in Rangoon

Labour Behind the Label (which campaigns for the rights of garment workers around the world) is calling for solidarity with thousands of garment workers from industrial zones around Rangoon, Burma, who have launched industrial actions over the last weeks.
The actions are being organised to demand an increase in salaries, improvements in conditions and respect of their basic labour rights in defiance of a ban on all kinds of protests and gatherings.
As the number of actions increase so does the concern for the safety of workers given the record of the Burmese government for violent repression.
