In Rio de Janeiro, there are three associations of homeworkers: in Nova Friburgo, Paciencia and right in the heart of Rio, in Rocinha. Leaders of the associations meet with each other and have recently joined up with other groups of own-account homebased workers. They are working together as part of the ‘Solidarity Economy’.
